Or, A Follow Up Regarding “Transform Your Relationship with Food”
As promised, this is “keeping you posted” from the previous blog post Transform Your Relationship with Food: From Diets to an Eating Lifestyle
The client that I referred to in the previous blog post came back two weeks after his second session just as we had planned. I usually suggest a three session commitment because it helps to create a strong foundation for the changes you want.
I was very happy to see and hear that he is becoming an even happier, healthier man. Yes, yes, yes! When we feel better we do better. When we applaud our victories on the inside all day long, no matter how small, no matter how big, and when we are being honest with ourselves and those we care for, we do lose excess weight mentally, emotionally and physically.
Following a Plan
He had a serious tone as he expressed that he has now learned for sure that he needs a more regimented eating lifestyle. That’s right! For him that includes following a plan. Part of that plan is deciding before going to the grocery store what he and his wife will be cooking for the week for themselves and their young children. This includes snacks as well. His focus is on nutrient enriched foods, focusing on his protein intake. They decided a couple of creative ways to cut down on cooking would be to use the air fryer and prep sides ahead of time.
He had a detrimental office visit with his primary care physician. His doctor suggested going on weight loss medication temporarily for his health; his body is struggling too much from the weight. Yes, I do believe pharmaceuticals have their place whether that would be for weight loss, mental health, a heart condition or whatever organ needs some assistance based on the conversation with your doctor. “Temporary” was a key player for him to come to a place of decision. A more permanent weight loss tool was added to work in conjunction with the meds; an app through his insurance company which would give him a Wellness Coach, allow him to log his food intake, track his progress in a variety of ways and even watch his blood work improve.
We can manage what we can measure.
This boosted his confidence that it is possible for him to lose the excess weight in a healthy sustainable way.
Commitment to the “Deep,” Inner Work
He also realized he needed to continue working on his mental health. In that session we further worked through his long standing (limiting) beliefs based on his personal life experience. These beliefs are very much part of our brain’s mechanism to “protect” us. The truth is that this mechanism is not logical, it is a survival instinct. In the relaxed state of hypnosis my client and I talk back and forth and communicate with those specific parts. We have an actual conversation with those parts that need his acknowledgement, acceptance and love. We discover what their purpose is and how we can fulfill that purpose in much more beneficial ways. We bring love to all of the fearful parts and we get all parts in agreement to work together for our highest good. It’s deeeep root work. It’s a place where change truly takes place on a cellular level.
I am so proud of this man for having the courage to reach out for help. He is now focusing more and more on what is within his control and taking the necessary steps to incorporate it into his literal life. I do believe his present and his future look very bright!
Not everyone experiences such dramatic shifts after two hypnosis sessions for weight loss – some do and you could be one of them! Why not discover what’s possible for you?
