If anxiety and overthinking have been feeling like too much, this short video will give you a sense of how I work and what you can expect.
According to Stop Anxiety Expert Mark Shepard, “Anxiety is thinking vividly about what you do NOT want to have happen.”
If that is the case, anxiety is every bit as much a blessing to the human race as it is a problem. I work with clients experiencing anxiety in Milford, Connecticut and also offer Zoom sessions worldwide.
Think about it. If your ancestors weren’t able to think about the future and make appropriate plans for food storage, warm clothing and shelter, none of us would be here today to worry about whatever it is that you are worrying about….
Let’s see… (just for fun I’ve lumped a bunch of anxiety labels together)…
- Test Anxiety
- Music Performance Anxiety
- Social Anxiety (what used to be called “Shyness”)
- General Anxiety Disorder a.k.a. G.A.D.
- Panic Disorder, panic attacks
- Phobias: agoraphobia, emetophobia, technophobia,
- Then there is good old fashioned FEAR! Let’s see: fear of flying, fear of speaking in public, fear of elevators, fear of success, fear of rejection, and the fears are endless.
Maybe we should have a label for having anxiety about having anxiety. Maybe we do and I don’t know it!
Seriously, we all have “anxiety” to one degree or another.
Sometimes we use different words for it or express it differently. Another word for it could be stress. Or we may say, “I’m not myself because I have a lot on my mind.” It doesn’t have to be a full blown panic attack to feel anxious. One thing for sure, it is a feeling that we want relief from, whether that shows up as stress, overthinking, or ongoing anxiety.
If focusing on negative outcomes can cause your body to react as if the imagined event is real… what would happen if you learned how to focus on positive outcomes using hypnosis? This is where hypnosis for anxiety can help calm the nervous system and begin shifting those patterns.
Hypnosis can assist you to create the kinds of images and self talk that cause your body to release endorphins and other “feel good” chemicals instead of the “feel not so good” chemical cocktail of your typical anxiety triggered fight or flight reaction.
Take a break, get out of your head and refresh your mind with this 13 minute hypnosis recording.
If you anxiety, panic, ongoing stress have been getting in the way, imagine what it might be like to be more comfortable in your day to day life.
