I had been anxiously waiting at least two months for it to come out into the theaters. Two months of anxiously waiting!
I finally got to see it on wednesday which was just five days after its release! The parking lot was packed. Yes, school was out. Yes, it was a holiday. Yes, it was a heat wave. My friend and I anxiously scouted for a parking space. Anxiety nearly hijacked us, so we had to practice zipping our anxiety inducing words that were jumping out of our mouths. We needed to focus on zeroing in on an available parking space, and not to create more anxiety.
We found one! I masterfully pulled in my elderly vehicle. My friend was very impressed. Oh really? I think she was trying to be complimentary to make up for our high anxiety, which I have to say, did calm down with our zipping modality. (The tools work when we work them!)
Into the theatre entrance with our electronic tickets. True confession here, I did not know how to work the electronic tickets, but my friend was attempting to as I was saying to the young ticket man, “We don’t know how to do this.”
We entered the theatre door with the number nine. Right smack in the middle of the row were our two big comfy reserved seats waiting for our anxious butts to cozy in. Another true confession here, I did not know how to work the chair. I simply wanted the footrest to come up. I asked my friend for some assistance. She was making the footrest go up and down and I didn’t know if the chair was going into a reclining position or a takeoff position. She certainly did amuse herself until finally she had mercy on me and simply made the footrest come up. Whew!
I overheard a woman say to the man beside her, “I told you there would be two hours of previews before the movie started.” I guess he was having a little anxiety. Some may call it impatience.
The movie finally started! Those two months of anxious waiting had finally come to the very moment I was anxiously awaiting. I haven’t mentioned the name of the movie yet?! I’ll tell you this, one of the new character’s names is “Anxiety”. Yes, it’s true! The movie is Disney Pixar’s Inside Out 2. It’s been nine long years since the first one came out.
Why would I be so excited about this?! Well, there’s a lot of reasons. I will often take my clients to their “control center” while they are in that natural relaxed state of hypnosis. I create their “adjustments” from the notes I have been taking while talking with them in their complimentary phone conversation and right there in their first session. The sessions are personally tailored to each individual client. Turning somethings up, turning somethings down, noticing somethings are just right. I give them plenty of time to make their very own private adjustments.
While there in the control center we are sure to bring love to all our fearful parts because perhaps fear is the absence of love. All emotions are necessary. When we attempt to bottle up our emotions they become suppressed. (Yes, they got bottled up for a very short time in the movie.) Suppressed emotions are very much like an undercurrent, there is an unseen energy pulling or pushing. Pulling or pushing away from what we really want to think, feel and or do.
In hypnotherapy sessions we can get to the roots of what is causing your undercurrents. In that relaxed state you can communicate directly with your subconscious mind by passing the critical part of your brain, like accessing your internal control center or operating system. Through hypnosis, you can more easily implement what it is that you really want to think, feel and or do.
Another reason why I’ve been so excited about the movie is that when my client’s eyes are open and they are back to the here and now I ask them what their control center looked like. Many times the reply comes with the question, “Do you know the movie Inside Out?” Seriously!
Imagine accessing your mind’s control center and making real, lasting changes. With hypnotherapy, it is possible!
You don’t have to go it alone…
