It’s one of my favorite times of the year – it’s time for the 16th Annual Tapping World Summit!
Tapping which is also known as Emotional Freedom Techniques is a highly effective handy stress relieving technique. In scientific studies it has been proven to give relief from stress, anxiety, emotional problems, pain, fears, post-traumatic stress disorder and so many other disturbing conditions.
In addition to reducing stress and anxiety, tapping is also effective to help change habits. It can be used to interrupt or stop food cravings and overeating. It can also be used to help change the cigarette smoking habit by waiting longer in between cigarettes or completely stopping the habit. Bottom line here, you can use tapping on everything and anything. Yes, it can help with insomnia as well!
Tapping can be likened to acupuncture without needles or light acupressure with a combination of modern psychology. I have been using it for over 15 years both personally and professionally with most of my clients.
Because it calms our system it causes our brain to go into a much more relaxed resourceful state. Very much like getting the blood back into our thinking brain (frontal cortex) as opposed to being in our limbs to run from the lions, the tigers, the bears, oh my it’s me! We cannot outrun our fears whether they be imagined by anxiety or stuck in our neurology from unpleasant life experiences. My clients and myself often end up with a big smile after just one round of tapping because the relief is, well, very relieving and it just feels so much better.
