“Doing very well. No urge to smoke at all.”
In her second session, which is a scheduled follow up within one week she went on to tell me she keeps having Deja Vu moments. She gets out of bed in the morning, walks past her purse and has what she refers to as a Deja Vu moment. Same thing happens when she gets in her car, when she finishes a meal, when she’s feeling stressed, and when she’s feeling bored.
She explains it like this, “I actually come to a complete stop because I feel like I’m forgetting something.” Yes Ms. Nonsmoker for Life, you are remembering that you are forgetting to smoke a cigarette!!!
This is the evidence of how effective hypnosis for smoking cessation is. Rapid changes take place in the brain while in hypnosis (hypnosis is simply a relaxed state). In the case of smoking cessation, the smoking habits get replaced with nonsmoking habits.
I teach my clients to pay attention to “the programs” that are running in their mind. By programs I mean the habitual stuff that goes on in there; the commands, the words, the attitudes, the emotions, the thoughts, the feelings, the body following the mind stuff.
Once they become aware they then can STOP an undesirable program by simply changing the program channel to a more desirable one. An example of hypnosis with smoking cessation in regard to programs could be, feeling an urge to smoke, stopping that habitual program and running a program on The Fresh Air Breather channel. Taking a couple deep belly breaths while seeing yourself as A Nonsmoker For Life. For your Life!! Enjoying the free feeling of the fresh air exchange taking place within the body and the mind. Feeling the increase in energy from a couple deep belly breaths.
Further jubilation from this client, now using her money in a proud way by putting it into a vacation fund as opposed to burning it up in smoke.
I love assisting people with hypnosis for smoking cessation!!!
